DR: Hello Joe. Thank you for taking the time out to talk with me today. Joe, can you tell us what your company is all about? |
JC: My company is called Production Money. We help serious filmmakers find money for their projects. We usually look for projects with star potential that already have some other backers. |
DR: We were talking and you said that you saw a need for a show. Can you tell my readers? What are you looking for? If there is a company that would like to work with you on this? |
JC: I see a need for a show about people with disabilities. I want to focus on people succeeding in life despite their physical or emotional disabilities. I would love to work with another company on this project. |
DR: Are you ever looking for talent, as I get so many people that want to send demo of their talent or pictures. Do you keep a casting file? |
JC: Yes, I keep many headshots on file in my office. You never know when you may need them, plus other colleagues ask to look at them when they need an actor or actress for their own projects. |
DR: Now how did you get started in this business? |
JC: I have always wanted to be a part of the film and television industry. It was a dream of mine. So after high school I decided to go to film school. I graduated and began networking and first working as a PA on many television shows and films that were filmed locally here in Florida. |
DR: Is there anything you would like to talk more on what you work on with your company? |
JC: I work on finding serious projects that need some serious cash financing. I find investors for them. But I like to see projects that have letters of intent from name actors and also already have some backing. |
DR: Were you ever an actor? If so, what did you do? |
JC: I have acted in several short films and have had small roles in feature length films. |
DR: How long have you been in Orlando? |
JC: I have lived in Central Florida for the past 9 years. |
DR: You have seen many actors. Can you tell us something from the heart, to other actors, how to keep going in the business? What you have seen to help them keep going & not give up. |
JC: There is no such thing as an overnight success. Study your craft. Act as much as you can, even if it is in a local theater company. Take classes. Be in every short film you have an opportunity to be in. Network, network, network. |
DR: How long have you been involved with the Florida Motion Picture & Television Association? Also, I have so many pageant directors & events call me for judges. Are you interested in judging beauty pageants? |
JC: I joined FMPTA in 1994. It's a great place to network. Yes, I'd consider judging. |
DR: How can people interested in working with your company contact you, Joe? |
JC: I would prefer that your readers email me at productionmoney@yahoo.com or call me at (321) 452-9664. If they want to send headshots or information on their projects, they can mail: Production Money, 262 E. Merritt Island Cswy, Suite 18, Merritt Island, FL 32952. |
DR: Until next time, this is Dawn Reese. Reporting from Dawn 'til Dusk, simply because that's me! That is why I call myself The Winning Edge. Pageant Gals really need to bring Headshots and Demos to Pageants. Not leave them at home. This is so Important. If anyone is interested in the Demo Tape of the World Championships of Performing Arts, send $5 for postage. I can send it to you, and you will see this Awesome Event in Hollywood, California. Send $5 to: Winning Edge, P.O. Box 33722, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, 33420 |
